MCC Admission Requirements

MCC carefully evaluates all prospective students, the following are the requirements to meet to be eligible to apply to our programs – there are some exceptions, please contact an admission coordinator for more information.


High School Diploma / GED*

Grade 12 high school diploma from a Canadian high school or successful completion of GED (General Educational Development). A copy of the high school transcript is required in addition to the diploma.


Mature student status*

Must be 19 years of age or older and out of school for a minimum of one year. There must be an admission test administered with a pass equivalent to grade 12. A copy of the high school diploma is required. A copy of the high school transcript is required for students recently out of high school.


Domestic vs International Applicants

Domestic students must:

  • Successfully complete the college’s English Language Exam, and
  • Be a citizen of Canada, or a person registered as an Indian within the meaning of the Indian Act, or be a Permanent Resident of Canada at the time you apply for admission, or hold Refugee, or Asylee status

International Students must:


Medical Office Assistant Program

Medical Fitness to complete all components of the program. A Medical Certificate (an Immunization Form) might be required indicating that the student is fit to undertake the program.


First Aid & CPR Certificates

Students might be required to complete Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR prior to practicum placement. These certificates are in addition to the program hours and are to be copied and placed in the student’s file.


Police Check (Clearance) of Criminal Record

Must produce these documents within 30 days of starting the program. The Police Check must include a Vulnerable Sector Check. Individuals who have a criminal record are not able to participate in the practicum placement and therefore are unable to graduate from the program.

*Excluding Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course (ages 11-15)
