Revit Architectural Part 1 & 2

Students in the REVIT architectural modeling program will learn how to use the robust architectural design system known as REVIT. This software application was created for architects and building professionals. Those who want to pursue a career in architecture or other building professional fields will learn how to use the tool to support building information modeling workflows, known as BIM.

Career Responsibilities

The introductory course will lead the student through the basic procedures of designing an integrated building model. Students will acquire the following knowledge, skills and responsibilities:

  • Levels and grid creation
  • Navigation and display concepts
  • Creating and editing walls
  • Adding doors and windows
  • Creating floor and roof objects
  • Working with view properties
  • Object styles
  • Loading and modifying family components
  • Adding dimensions and annotations
  • Stair creation
  • Structural elements creation
  • Basic site modelling tools (including topographical surfaces )

This intermediate to advanced Revit Architecture is intended for those who have completed the REVIT 1 class. Students will acquire the following knowledge, skills and responsibilities:

  • Annotation methods
  • Door and window schedules and camera and perspective view creation
  • Rendering
  • Lights and materials
  • Creation of custom content with the family editor
  • Conceptual massing tools
  • Curtain walls and custom curtain wall panels
  • Phasing tools
  • Work sets
  • File linking strategies
  • Sheets
  • View templates
  • Detailing
